2011-09-27 The Third Decade Begins

And just like that I begin the third decade of my life. I am twenty, no longer a teenager, which is quite unfortunate. The third floor of my building celebrated in style. I skipped class because we arrived slightly late from Moscow, and our director excused me from class. My friends took me to an Italian dinner near the palace embankment which is fancy town area. Later we wandered the city before returning to the dorms to the tastiness of cake and much alcohol. We shared 20 litres of beer which sounds like a lot, but there were enough of us to split it among.  It turned into a wild night despite it’s typical Monday nature of exhaustion. We stayed out until 4 am at a hookah bar and barely caught any shut eye. Our teachers in the morning were observant enough to know we weren’t on our full game, but they were more than okay with it.

I just returned from the train station to do some research about my fall semester break, which is coming up very soon. The group is soon going on the sponsored trip to Moscow, and after that we have a week off from classes to explore anywhere we would like. I’m not completely yet where I’m going to go, but I cannot wait to pick a destination from the board at the train station and just head out!
