2012-02-09 One Day
Yes… this is blog is slightly turning it’s identity into random movie updates, along with mostly pictures, and rarely stories about my actual trip in Russia. Hey… at least I am updating often. There will be hopefully plenty of content for you.
First off, I watched the film One Day, with the ever so British Jim Sturgess and the not so British Anne Hathaway. It was a very sad movie. I do not want to ruin it for anyone. Funny story about Britain. While I was there I made a joke to a British friend of mine when he checked the score of the Andy Murray Australian open match. I said, “All you Englishmen have to stick together right?” He responded with, “I am Welsh. Andy Murray is Scottish. You just managed to insult three nationalities in one go. Oh… by the way, how do you like Canada?” Well done Adrian…
Secondly, they added wireless internet to the main lobby area of my dorm. Which means… I finally have good consistent internet. Sort of. I happen to be leaving in two weeks to move into my home stay.
I meet them next week, for a trial run, and then the week after I go to live with them! How exciting?! The home is the furthest from the school out of all the options, I had first choice due to my seniority with the program. I am tired of this area of town. I want a change of pace and a completely different neighborhood. Right now I live thirty minutes north of the city center. Soon I will move to a neighborhood 30 minutes to the south east. Bold choice by myself, if I may say so.
At least it will provide plenty of new opportunities and experiences for myself. As you know, I get pretty bored in the same place too long.
Took a trip to Ikea today by spontaneous accident. And that is about it. I also volunteered again, clearly the legitimate badge is getting me better jobs. Today I actually helped try and put a thousand year old pot together, it was much like a giant puzzle… a 3D… ancient… illogical… dirty… valuable… arduously difficult… puzzle. Off to eat chocolate ice cream. Au revoir!
