2012-02-15 Zenit Sankt Piterbyrg!

Don’t worry, I am not drunk. I am simply spelling Saint Petersburg how it is pronounced in Russian! I attended the Zenit-Benfica Round of 16 Champions League game tonight. Since it is late I will summarize quickly. 

• -7 degrees Fahrenheit the entire time in the outdoor stadium, Petrovskiy, along the Neva river. 
• Down 1-0 Zenit fought back to win it in the last minute of regular time.
• Roman Shirokov, my favorite player, due to the very first time I saw him play, scored twice. Basically I pick them well and know what I am doing.
• My fifth attended Zenit game and I have never seen them lose. Trend?

Easy to say that Zenit is my favorite sports team in the world. Coming in second to eighth are all New York sports teams.
